Artist Statement:
This is the first in an ongoing series that reference the scientist Johannes Kepler and my dog, a chocolate golden doodle that we named after Kepler. The series explores elliptical planetary orbit that Kepler sorted out over 400 years ago. The series also have been a rare opportunity for me to “play” and explore in my studio during our current pandemic existence. The ring is fabricated in Sterling silver with a heavy oxidation and includes a larger yellow sapphire for the sun, a small reddish sapphire for the planet Mars and a blue sapphire for earth.
